indie (former EXALOS), the world’s leading manufacturer of Superluminescent Light-Emitting Diodes (SLEDs), has developed a new generation of high-power and ultra-broadband SLEDs with center wavelengths at 1550 nm and 1600 nm, delivering a market-leading power-bandwidth performance to support a wide range of applications, including fiber sensing and fiber component testing covering the well-established fiber-optic communication bands.
These highly polarized and high-power SLED devices are available as 14pin Butterfly (BTF) modules with single-mode fiber (SMF) or polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) output, delivering typical optical power values of 15 mW or 20 mW with an ultra-broad 3dB bandwidth of more than 100 nm. Due to their flat spectral shape, these devices deliver high and constant power spectral density (PSD) values over a wide spectral range.
Using its advanced and automated micro-optical integration platform HOPP, indie is also offering a combined-SLED source, delivering more than 20 mW of output power over a 10 dB bandwidth of 175 nm, delivering a PSD value of -21 dBm/0.1nm from around 1510 nm to 1650 nm with a single 14pin BTF module. A wider-bandwidth 14pin BTF combi-SLED with spectral coverage from 1250 nm to 1650 nm is also available.
