indie’s distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes are engineered with state-of-the-art GaN compound semiconductor technology, enabling unparalleled performance in the near-UV (375nm) to green (535nm) spectral range. Based on an innovative approach, the LDs deliver exceptional spectral purity, ensuring precise and stable emission for even the most demanding applications.


Key Features and Benefits

Single Spatial Mode:
The chip emits light with a consistent spatial profile and the output has single transverse mode, ensuring uniform intensity distribution and the possibility of efficient collimation or coupling into single-mode waveguides.

Free-Space or Pigtailed:
Options include uncooled TO-can modules, temperature-controlled units with either fiberized or free-space collimated outputs having high circularity and low divergence, and turn-key solutions including driver electronics. Check with us for your requirements.

Directional:
The light output of bare modules can be conveniently collimated into parallel beams or focused down to spot sizes of few μm.

Polarized:
The light output is linearly polarized with a typical Polarization Extinction Ratio > 20dBs.

Tunable:
The emission wavelength can be tuned through a combination of case temperature and drive current.

Efficient and Rugged:
The lasers come with low-threshold currents, high differential slopes, and have wall-plug efficiencies comparable to conventional FP-lasers. Driven under controlled conditions with a constant current, the lasers offer an excellent stability with typical wavelength variations that are lower than a picometer over an operating period > 15h. Additionally, these devices are built for durability, offering a long operational lifetime.

Single Frequency:
Our proprietary design achieves a narrow spectral linewidth and a high side-mode suppression ratio, minimizing unwanted modes for superior signal clarity.
