indie: 2024 Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance

At indie, we understand the importance of being good corporate citizens. Our contributions and commitment to sustainability derive from the products we develop and how we run our global operations. We approach each day with a keen focus on ensuring that our people, products, policies, and procedures support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) and help make the world a better place for future generations.

Since inception, indie has been on a journey to deliver highly innovative semiconductor-based autotech solutions that address some of the industry’s most complex challenges head-on, pioneering a new era in driver safety and automation, in-cabin user experience and electrification solutions that meet the mobility needs of consumers and societies across the globe.

Today, we are pleased to share the publication of our 2024 Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) report. Building upon the ESG commitments and approach reported in our inaugural ESG report in 2023, we are proud of the additional progress that indie has made during the past year. From capturing our greenhouse gas (GHG) Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for the first time, to waste recycling and conserving water, indie is focused on minimizing the environmental impact of its business operations and being proactive where possible.

Our deep social commitments encompass over 900 employees that make up the indie family and extend into the wider communities where we are based. As a global, equal opportunity employer, we recruit and retain the highest quality talent from diverse backgrounds by offering attractive benefits, options for personal development and education, internships, and a dynamic work environment as our team’s tackle solving some of the automotive industry’s hardest technology problems. Outside of indie, activities such as partnerships with local universities and charitable and other initiatives allow us to ‘give back’ to local communities.

In addition to strong corporate governance processes and management and Board oversight, we also require that our suppliers and partners have the same values and rigorous standards as we do when it comes to ESG. We ensure this through a ‘Social Responsibility Agreement’ that not only covers products and services, but extends to human rights, ethics, and social practices.

In line with our industry peers, indie continues to meet or exceed our ESG milestones. The company is unwaveringly committed to supporting the automotive industry to overcome design challenges and bring-to-market the most sustainable, high performing autotech solutions for consumers across the globe.

But our work is not done yet.

Indie’s CEO and co-founder Donald McClymont captures this spirit best in his opening remarks: “ESG is journey – there is always more that can be done, and just as we strive to continually improve our automotive technology platforms to make mobility safe, enjoyable and accessible for everyone, we will continue to update and improve our ESG activities, policies and procedures.”
