High-Power Reflector – HPR

Samuel Gouin

Product Line Manager

With over a decade of expertise in Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) cavity reflectors, indie combines deep technical knowledge for custom requests with mass production capabilities to meet high-volume demands. Our meticulous approach ensures components are delivered precisely on spec, on time, and with reliability that outlasts the lifespan of fiber lasers.

indie has also developed a unique Written Through the Coating (WTC) FBG technology. By eliminating the need to remove fiber coating, this process avoids the most common failure mode of FBG mirrors, resulting in exceptionally high component reliability. The WTC process also supports extremely high pump power handling, opening new possibilities for single oscillator and MOPA designs.

The HPR is available in three packaging options, each with distinct advantages:

  • Recoated: Designed for laser manufacturers to handle mounting, maximizing cost efficiency.
  • Heat Dissipation Package: Integrated into a robust high-power package for seamless reflector integration.
  • Written Through the Coating (WTC): Unmatched power handling, quality, and reliability.

Key Features and Benefits

Power Handling:
The HPR reflectors feature efficient heat management, ensuring reliable performance in multi-kW laser designs.

Highly Efficient:
By limiting component insertion loss, hence improving optical conversion efficiency, the HPR reflectors reduce overall laser system costs.

Value:
HPR reflectors maximize laser oscillator output, simplifying system designs and reducing cost-per-watt by minimizing the number of oscillators required.

Reliable:
Long-term performance is essential for industrial laser systems. With over a decade of deployment and tens of thousands of HPR units in the field, indie delivers proven dependability.

Partnership:
From prototyping to mass production, indie collaborates closely throughout the entire product development process.
