SLEDs and LDs With Visible Light Emission
We are the ONLY manufacturer of violet, blue and green Superluminescent Light Emitting Diodes (SLEDs), based on III-nitride semiconductor technologies, and of red SLEDs with emission below 640nm. SLEDs combine the directionality typical of semiconductor lasers with the spectral width of LEDs. They are an attractive alternative to lasers in applications where coherent artefacts can be problematic.
Thanks to our expertise in the manufacturing of superluminescent diodes, we have the capability to produce state-of-the-art laser diode chips tailored to specific requirements. This includes LDs with ultra-low threshold currents for energy-efficient operation or with very high slope efficiencies for superior high-power performance. Our mastery in diode technology ensures precision and reliability for the most demanding applications.

Our extensive experience with III-nitride compound semiconductors (15+ years) and GaAs-based materials (20+ years) have enabled us to develop edge-emitters with unparalleled characteristics. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, rapid turnaround times, and competence in designing and producing innovative solutions. These include the possibility of delivering bare dies, chips on submount, industry-standard packages (with fiber or free-space output) or fully integrated RGB modules including optics and electronics. Device specifications (e.g. power, spectra or optical field divergence) can be tailored to specific requirements.
