SiRad Easy® r4 is an advanced and comprehensive evaluation system for our radar front-ends. It is the successor to the SiRad Easy®, featuring improved processor power and new connectivity in a smaller form factor. The evaluation kit with the included software provides a functional radar system with an extensive range of functions – well beyond what you find in a simple test board.
Hardware
The hardware consists of 4 parts:
Baseboard: This is the system’s core component based on a microcontroller. It includes baseband processing, Analog-to-Digital conversion, and data output to USB and other interfaces. Its USB port also provides power to the whole system.
Radar Front-end Boards: These interchangeable boards are individual to each indie radar MMIC and intended for use with the baseboard. The front-end boards include the antennas either on the board or integrated into the radar chip (Antenna in Package or Antenna on Die, depending on radar front-ends).
Beam-Shaping Elements: We provide lenses or reflectors with some radar front-end boards that can narrow the radar beam and increase detection range.
Breakout Board: This optional board extends connectivity options by two 30-pin 2.54mm header bars. It facilitates access to individual signals and simplifies the integration of SiRad Easy® r4 components into a larger prototype system.
Software
A standalone GUI allows you to visualize and adjust the radar data in several ways. You can easily change system parameters and immediately see the results in the GUI. Another option is to use the comprehensive communication protocol description and the free embedded source code library to develop custom radar algorithms.

You can combine individual purchases of SiRad Easy® r4 components according to your needs.
In addition, we offer a 120 GHz starter bundle consisting of:
- 1x SiRad Easy® r4 Baseboard
- 1x SiRad Easy® r4 TRAˍ120ˍ002 Radar Front-end Board
- 1x USB cable
- Set of lenses and reflector
